Kaz Grala to Drive No. 62 Fire Dept. Coffee Toyota in San Diego

STATESVILLE, N.C. June 15, 2026 — Halmar Friesen Racing announced today that Kaz Grala will drive the No. 62 Fire Dept. Coffee Toyota Tundra TRD Pro in Friday night’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Navy 250 at the Naval Base Coronado street course in San Diego, California.

The event marks the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series’ first visit to the newly constructed street circuit on Naval Base Coronado as part of NASCAR’s inaugural San Diego race weekend and the U.S. Navy’s 250th anniversary celebration.

Grala joins Halmar Friesen Racing for his first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start of the season. The Massachusetts native brings experience across NASCAR’s national touring divisions and currently serves as the full-time simulator driver for Legacy Motor Club.

Adorning the No. 62 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro will be Fire Dept. Coffee, a veteran-owned coffee company founded by firefighter and Navy veteran Luke Schneider. Joining the effort is longtime Grala partner Ruedebusch Development & Construction, a Madison, Wisconsin-based commercial real estate development and construction company.

“I can’t wait to finally get behind the wheel this weekend in San Diego with Halmar-Friesen Racing,” Grala said. “This No. 62 group has put up some really strong numbers this year, so I have no doubt that we’re going to be competitive on what I think might be the most interesting and challenging circuit I’ve ever seen.

“It’s been nearly nine months since I’ve been in a race car of any kind, but that last outing was a top-five finish in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and luckily my day-job at Legacy Motor Club as their full-time sim driver has kept me sharp since then.”

“I’m always so grateful for the opportunity to get out and do what I love, so a huge thank you to Fire Dept. Coffee and Ruedebusch Development & Construction. I’ve worked with both partners for years, and as a veteran-owned company, Fire Dept. Coffee is a perfect fit for this very special event on the Coronado Naval Base.”

“There will be a lot of unknowns out there this weekend, but one thing’s for sure: the perfect parking spot for our red, white and blue Toyota Tundra would be in Victory Lane, so that’s exactly what we’re focused on doing.”

The No. 62 team has recorded multiple top-five finishes during the 2026 season and enters San Diego looking to continue its strong performance on one of the most unique and challenging layouts on the NASCAR schedule.
